AGIG releases its first ESG Report
Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) is pleased to release its first Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, detailing its performance and achievements for 2021, as well as sharing their vision for the future.
The Report showcases AGIG’s commitment to and investment in mitigating long-term impacts to the environment while progressing the interests of customers and the communities that they serve. This Report outlines areas where we need to do more while showcasing what has already been delivered.
AGIG is one of Australia's largest gas infrastructure businesses. The Report targets align with AGIG’s vision of delivering for customers, being a good employer, and being sustainably cost efficient.
AGIG’s ESG Report uses the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as a framework for explaining the key focus areas, progress and targets that AGIG is committed to working towards in its operations. AGIG has selected six industry relevant SDG’s to set targets for, these include: Affordable Clean Energy, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry Innovation and Energy Infrastructure, Sustainability Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, and Climate Action.
AGIG Chief Executive Officer, Craig de Laine commented: "Our inaugural ESG report aligns to our Vision and outlines our commitment to reporting our progress to our ESG targets each year.”
“Meeting the growing demand for affordable and reliable energy and reducing environmental impacts is both a challenge and enormous opportunity. Our approach to ESG matters will be a key foundation for how our business moves forward into the future.”
