The Fortescue River Gas Pipeline (FRGP) is an approximately 270 km buried natural gas pipeline, which transports natural gas from the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline(DBNGP) to the Solomon Power Station. The Solomon Power Station is a 125 MW power station which supplies power to the Solomon Hub in the Pilbara region of Western Australian (WA). The FRGP (Pipeline Licence PL105) connects to the DBNGP (PL40) at Compressor Station 1 (CS1) via an Inlet Station and delivers gas to the Solomon Power Station through a Delivery Station.
The Petroleum Pipeline (Environment) Regulations 2012 (PPE Regs) require the development and implementation of an Environment Plan (EP) to the satisfaction of the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration (DPME). The Fortescue River Gas Pipeline Environment Plan (FRGP EP) has been prepared to satisfy this requirement.
AGI Fortescue is currently undertaking 5-yearly update on our FRGP EP and would like to invite you to provide your input. The purpose of the 5-year update is to:
The objective of the FRGP EP is to demonstrate that AGI Fortescue River Pty Ltd provides and maintains an effective environmental management system that is capable of systematically and continually identifying, assessing and managing environmental aspects arising from the operation of the FRGP. The FRGP EP aims to establish suitable controls so as to eliminate or minimise the risks to environment to a level that is low, negligible or reduced to as low as is reasonably practicable (ALARP). The FRGP EP further seeks to provide a framework for measuring environmental performance against legislative requirements and AGIG policies and standards.
The scope of this EP includes all activities associated with ongoing operation and maintenance of the FRGP. This can also include minor enhancement or construction activities as required.
