Employer Statement on Workplace Gender Equality Agency Reporting
Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) is pleased to provide its employer statement as part of the Workplace Gender Equality Agency reporting framework for 2024.
This year's results show further improvement across a number of metrics, as a result of our continued efforts to close our gender pay gap. This includes a further closing of the average total pay gap from 28.1% last year to 23.3% this year; and a reduction in the gender pay gaps across all manager categories and occupation categories.
We have also seen an increase in females being paid within the upper quartile pay levels - from 11% in 2023 to 21% this year - and a small increase in females in the upper middle quartile pay levels, up 3% to 23%.
While these numbers are trending in the right direction, there remains more work to be done to achieve greater equality in these areas, including in achieving greater balance of women and men in both upper and lower pay quartiles.
This will be a focus for AGIG over the next reporting period, where our efforts will focus on:
- Continuing to utilise the AGIG Remuneration Framework to systematically align the WGEA classification definitions with the AGIG levels of work for next year's submission;
- Conducting ongoing deep dives into the largest Gender Pay Gaps and determining opportunities and best review approaches for further progress;
- Utilising the 2024 – 2026 Diversity Equity and Inclusion Engagement Plan to action common gender equality and pay gap drivers, including reviews of attraction, recruitment, retention and promotion processes, and align with new and enhanced inclusive practices considering equity.
AGIG looks forward to providing further updates via WGEA.
